“We start with a warm-up and do a short workout + stretch so that our body is ready. Then we often go across the floor and of course end with a choreography. I think it’s very important that we are there to learn and discover new things, which involves making mistakes. It is a combination of sexy/fierce/fun and of course technique.

I challenge you to go beyond your comfort zone while still being true to yourself. Let’s have some fun ;) !”

Claudia Quaglia

BIO:
Born and raised in Torino (IT), I am a dedicated dancer with a background in street and club dance styles. Over time, my movement has evolved into something entirely new and personal, synthesizing knowledge acquired over the years. It is characterized by a profound utilization of arm movements and footwork, emphasizing expressiveness inspired primarily by Waacking and UK Jazz dance.

Throughout my career, I have consistently challenged myself by participating in dance competitions, contributing to TV programs and movies, and performing in theatrical shows.

Class description:

Waacking is a form of dance that originated in the gay clubs of the 1970s in California from the African American and Latinx population. The dance has also been known as “Punking”, with some of the originators claiming that the name was a way of taking ownership of a negative term (as the term “punk” was a derogatory term for gay men in the 70s) and giving it a positive connotation.
Waacking is an extremely expressive, free and musical form of dance that is characterised by arm movements and posing with a strong emphasis on musicality and improvised performance.

Heels

Priscilla Sussenbach

Bio

My name is Priscilla Sussenbach. I am 22 years old and I’ve been dancing my whole life. I started my professional journey when I was 12. I went to Lucia Marthas Institute for Performing Arts in 2012 and stayed there until I graduated in 2021. In those 9 years I learned all the ins and outs on dancing and teaching. Now I mainly focus on teaching High Heels Classes. I love to teach these classes because I love to see women (or men) grow in their confidence in my class. I’m here to show every person that they can be sexy and confident, not depending on the way you look but on the way you feel when you put on that heel and dance your heart out.

Description of class

In my class we focus on combining jazz technique with feminine dance movements. We always do a full body warm up. After that we usually do an across the floor exercise where we focus on the technique of walking in heels. When that is done we do a choreography where we involve everything we did during the warm up and on the across the floor exercise in the choreography.

Claudia russo

BIO:

From Italy, I moved to The Netherlands in 2022. I’ve been dancing since I was a kid, studying the street dance styles (specially HipHop , House, Popping, Locking), getting more focused on HipHop and House. Doing so, I built solid bases, knowledge and technique in my dance, without forgetting the importance to enjoy dancing and express this through my movements.  I participated in different performances, contests, shows and music videos.

Class Description:
I started to teach when I was 17 years old and my classes are focused on foundations, steps, groove and technique, in order to give the tools to my students to create their own style. We DON’T want to copy each other but we want to get inspired and be ourselves! I strongly believe that freestyle should be the main and most natural way to express our dance, before thinking about following choreographies.
Indeed, in every class, after a fun and intense warm up, we will work on a step or concept or groove that we will try to develop. Before following me and later also working individually (of course always supported by my advice and whatever I can do to help you). Then, at the end of the class we will make a cypher: a simple circle made by all the participants of the class, where we can freely dance, have fun and put into practice what we learnt!

contemporary

Marlie Salomé

Bio

Hi y’all! My name is Marlie and I’m a dancer, teacher and choreographer. I mainly focus on contemporary styles with influences from other body-languages. My main goal within dancing is to dive deep into your own body and how to invest in the movement, the full body and the energy we use to create it. If people would have to describe me they’d say that I am a powerhouse with the ability to flow and float.

I love to share hard work and enjoyment during my class. That means you will definitely sweat and be pushed a little bit ;)

But it also means you will gain new knowledge and find ways to connect the movements and align them with musicality. Within my class it is not about the shape of the movements itself but how you approach it, how you get there, how you search for it and bring it together. We will move around the space, use a lot of groove, feel grounded, have highlights in the upper body and we won’t be afraid to sweep the floor ;)

Modern Jazz

Denise Hartgers

Denise started dancing at the age of 11 at her local dance studio in the east of the Netherlands. From that moment on dancing became one of her biggest passions in life. After she graduated high school she created her own training schedule by taking a variety of classes in Amsterdam to be as allround as possible. She lived in New York City for a couple of months to participate in a training program at Broadway Dance Centre. Here she focused on contemporary and commercial styles. Her love for contemporary dance grew a lot in these years and she decided to share this love through teaching this art form.

‘In the first part of class I focus on getting ‘into’ your body. I’ll help the students do this by giving them improvisation exercises that will spark their imagination. In the second part I focus on a choreography.

In my classes I really try to make sure people feel safe and free. Free to make their own choices in dance and free to be able to express their feelings. Whenever I teach a choreo I encourage my students to really listen to the lyrics and dive into the emotion of the song. I invite them to think of situations in their own lives that could possibly resemble that emotion. It’s so beautiful to see when people surrender to their feelings and really dance it out. It gives me goosebumps.

If the things I just said resonate with you or if you ever just feel the need to dance to sad (and sometimes happy) songs… Please feel free to join my class. I’d love to have you here!’

I  also teach Vinyasa Flow Yoga is a dynamic practice that invites to you to connect your breath to every movement. As you flow through the poses, you’ll not only build strength and flexibility but also develop a deeper connection to yourself. This class is designed to energize your body, calm your mind and nurture your soul. I would love to have you here!
