Information

ADC believes that children grow best in a loving, positive and caring environment. Every week, many youth classes are offered in almost every dance style at 2 locations: City Center and IJburg. Having fun in the danceclass is of course a number one priority. In addition we strive for the highest level in terms of educational content / pedagogy.

Our teachers are certified and each has their own unique way of teaching. This allows children to almost always find a teacher they feel comfortable with.

You can follow your child’s progress during the public classes that take place twice a season (before Christmas and summer holidays) in the studio during regular class time. Children can always follow a trial lesson with us (if there is availability in the class; registering for the trial class is essential and can be done via the link below. After receiving the registration, your child is welcome in the studio to take the trial class.

Robin vd velden

BIO:

Robin van der Velden is an all-round dancer and dance teacher. After falling in love with dance at a young age, Robin was sure of one thing: she wanted to become a professional dancer. Throughout her youth, she trained in various styles at different dance studios, and eventually discovered a second love for teaching. In 2026, she graduated from the urban-contemporary dance department at Fontys Academy of the Arts.

In her classes, Robin shares her passion for dance with contagious enthusiasm and dedication. The atmosphere in class is supportive, energetic, and open, encouraging every student to grow in both confidence and performance, regardless of where they are in their journey.

BIO:

Dance, music, and rhythm have always played a major role in my life. I discovered my passion for dance at a young age and knew right away that I wanted to pursue it further. That passion took shape when I began the preparatory program at Lucia Marthas. I am currently in the final year of my dual bachelor’s degree, where I am developing my skills as both a performer and a dance instructor.

During my studies, I’ve gained a lot of experience through internships, performances, and various projects. This has allowed me to work with people of all ages and skill levels, and I’ve learned how important it is for every student to feel seen and at ease in class.

My classes focus on fun, growth, and a safe learning environment. I believe it’s important for children to be themselves and to feel confident enough to move and explore. In addition to technique, I therefore also focus heavily on creativity, musicality, collaboration, and self-confidence. I believe that dance isn’t just about learning steps, but also about expressing yourself, having fun, and growing together.

I hope to convey my love and enthusiasm for dance to my students and to not only teach them a lot about dance, but also to give them wonderful memories, joy, and self-confidence.

Sanne Bakker

For as long as I can remember, I’ve been in the dance studio. From a young age, I developed my skills in various disciplines, including dance, singing, and acting. At age 16, I began the preparatory program at the Frank Sanders Academy, where I later earned my diploma as a musical and music theater performer. Afterward, I focused on teaching dance in elementary and secondary schools, as well as in recreational settings. I’ve also taken part in a number of wonderful projects, such as acting in various children’s theater productions. To further my development as a teacher, I’m currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Dance Education at the Lucia Marthas Institute for Performing Arts in Amsterdam, where I’ll graduate in 2025.

During my classes, I’ll take you into my world of dance and theater, where creativity and fun come first.

BIO:

Dance has been a great passion of mine my whole life. What began with ballet grew into a love for various dance styles. I am currently pursuing a dual degree in Performing Dance and Dance Education at Lucia Marthas. In addition, I have gained a lot of professional experience through various internships, which allows me to continue growing both artistically and pedagogically.

As a teacher, I believe it’s important for everyone to feel welcome, seen, and at ease. I enjoy creating a safe, positive, and creative environment where students can be themselves, have fun, and grow with confidence. For me, dance isn’t just about technique—it’s also about expression, self-confidence, and discovering what makes you unique. I hope to share my love for dance and inspire others to move with joy.
