Dancing is the best and most beautiful thing in life. For this reason, the Amsterdam Dance Center (ADC) was created. The best teachers have been teaching with us since 1995, led by Marie-José. We want to introduce you to our way of teaching, inspiring and challenging. This way you can choose how much you follow, from which teachers, at which times in many different styles.
We believe in the power of dance as a universal language that connects and inspires people. In the middle of Amsterdam it is also easy to reach by public transport. After all these years, we have developed into a leading center for dance education and creative expression.
All dance lovers are welcome with us. Whether you are just starting to dance, or have been taking lessons for years. We have classes for all ages and abilities, so everyone can discover, develop and express their passion. Whether you are a beginner dancer, an experienced professional who will refine your skills or are simply looking for a fun and healthy way to exercise, we have you covered.

When I was 3 I saw my sister dancing ballet, thats when I knew: I want to be a dancer. From pre-training to education, to dance companies, to New York and European tours, and eventually my own dance school in Amsterdam. I have enjoyed every form of dance and I still enjoy it every day. I had the opportunity to learn from the best dancers, and I want to offer you the same opportunity. Simply because you find the class fantastic, not because you have to, but because you truly enjoy the dance style and the teacher that suits you.

Moreover, it remains special to see the dance fun with teachers / members in the studios from the office when getting a cup of coffee. The ideal combination between my love for the executive profession and my organizational skills behind the scenes.
As a child I did gymnastics at a high level, I was in the children’s circus and in a choir. This grew into a passion for theatre/dance/singing and a study HBO Fontys Musicaltheater. At ADC I started as a scolar during this study and ended up in the office after 10 years of touring. I have been part of the permanent ADC office team for 5 years now and I still combine this with freelance assignments in theatre/dance, a.o. as a choreographer of professional family musicals, that’s why musical/jazz is my favorite dance style.

As a child I was always dancing Jazz Ballet. I loved the endshows and I took several classes a week. My passion for dance grew and I was accepted for a dance education. After this, I wanted to combine my passion for dance with my passion voor media, so I studied creative business. I love to combine these two passions, which I now do as a part of the ADC team since 2023.

As a child, my parents took me to performances by the then Scapino Ballet conducted by Hans Snoek. There I decided (7 years old) that I wanted to be a dancer. During my training I quickly noticed what my real love was within dance: teaching and working with different ages, groups, styles, in the broadest sense of the word. From the view that dance is important for everyone, I have no preference for a certain style.

The youth department. At the ADC I am the new point of contact for the youth department. As (among other things) former director of Balletschool de Toverfluit I bring a lot of experience with me. I put energy into making dance possible for all young people, that’s where my heart lies. The variety of organization, guidance, contact with the professional field, teachers, children and parents, makes this a nice varied place to work.
